FUSE International is an annual arts festival organised by Creative Youth providing young artists, local communities and collectives a platform to realise their creative expressions. As a young ambassador for Creative Youth, I had an opportunity to address a large group including Members of the Board, Kingston Council, local public, and other invited guests, during the Launch Event of FUSE International.
It also marked the launch of FUSEBOX, a newly set up multiarts space and heritage site in Kingston, opened to support local organisations and young artists to undertake ambitious projects that promote a sense of diversity and inclusion through arts and culture. During the launch event, I spoke to the audience about the multiple opportunities that I received as an artist through my involvement with Creative Youth.
During the launch event, FUSEBOX was inaugurated by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh who is the president of Creative Youth through his generous support for realising the full potential of the youth in driving this world in a better direction. I had the opportunity to host him along side the co-directors Archie O'Neill and Daniel Cartlidge. and a fellow young creative Katie Friedli Walton, while walking him through my solo exhibition Industrial Evolution displayed as a part of FUSE International.
HRH Duke of Edinburgh graciously engaged with a group of Young Creatives, the dynamic representatives of Creative Youth, embodying our artistic ethos. As ambassadors, we not only embody leadership in nurturing a creative milieu for young people but also champion the integration of education, arts, culture, and communal endeavors. I was honored to discuss my involvement as a Creative Talent Programme artist with Creative Youth, a role that has significantly bolstered my confidence and ability to guide fellow young artists in realizing their creative aspirations.
